Terms of Service
Last updated 30 July 2026.
These terms govern your use of Awaken3D (“Awaken”) at awaken3d.dev, including the editor, website, asset store, and plugin registry, operated by Ciarán McCormack. By using Awaken you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
The editor
The Awaken editor runs in your browser and saves projects to your own disk. It needs no account. You keep all rights to the projects, scenes, and assets you create; we claim no ownership over them.
Accounts
An account is optional and needed only to buy or download paid assets from the store, or to publish plugins and packages; free assets download without an account. Accounts are created by signing in with GitHub or Google; we do not manage passwords. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your provider account secure.
Publishing and acceptable use
When you publish a plugin or package you confirm you have the right to distribute it and its contents. You must not use Awaken to publish or distribute malware, code that attempts to escape the plugin sandbox or exfiltrate user data, infringing material, or unlawful content, and you must not attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service. We may remove content, revoke a signing key, or suspend an account that breaches these terms.
Third-party plugins
Plugins published by other users run in an isolated, network-restricted sandbox in your browser. They are provided by their authors, not by us. We verify a signature on signed plugins but do not endorse or guarantee third-party code; you install and run it at your own discretion.
Availability and “as is”
Awaken is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. The software is under active development and may change or have interruptions. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data or projects; keep your own backups of your work.
Termination
You may stop using Awaken at any time. We may suspend or end access for a breach of these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (publishing warranties, disclaimers, liability limits) continue to apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and the courts of New South Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, unless local mandatory consumer law (including the Australian Consumer Law) provides otherwise.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date above reflects the latest version. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
